how will i know if that jesus talks to me sometimes its hard to understand how will i walk with god how i do that if i only i could believe and have faith how will you do that i would like to ask you that question
Couple of thoughts. Jesus said that His sheep hear and know His voice. There’s something inherent about the voice of the Shepherd which gives peace to and calms the sheep. That being said, Jesus is also not going to be telling you anything contrary to what is in the Bible. Further, we each need to get intimately familiar with what IS in the Bible — God is already speaking to us there. The Gospels are a great place to start, because there we get to hear the words of Jesus firsthand.
You also ask how you can get/have faith. Paul tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
If you don’t have a good habit of daily reading the Word, then start one. Start with the Gospels, reading through them and asking Jesus to speak to your heart and mind directly through His Word. Then spend some time in prayer just talking to God about what you read. That’s how you work on developing that relationship with God.

I am an addict and alcoholic who has come to the realization that there is something better and more beneficial to my current state of mind. I quit using drugs about 6 yrs ago when I found myself pregnant, i married the father. We are trying to raise our child in a Christian atmosphere as we are diligent members of a very large congregation, many of whom do not know (me). I help out anywhere they need me but I cannot feel that Godliness inside my soul. I don’t know what to do? I am so sad that I cannot feel Him working in me. I love the Lord and I do have questions but not to disqualify Him as a Spirit of Deliverance. I still drink on occasion but my occasions and others’ occasions are very different. I pray to be able to tell my story but so many have the same story. Should I know what He wants for me to do or will I just have to wait, how do I know if I have missed my calling or when i am being called? Please help, I am very concerned for me and my future. With all the love in the world so is equal the hate.

There are a few things which come to mind that I want to share with you.
1) You need the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. I don’t know your background or the type of church you attend. What I do know is that being filled with the Holy Spirit makes the difference between a struggling Christian life and an overcoming Christian life. I have had the opportunity to witness this firsthand once again in the lives of several dear people whose church didn’t believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit — until they got so hungry and it began happening to them. I asked one lady to compare her life a year ago with her life now, and she said, “I wanted to quit. It’s not that I didn’t love God, but I just didn’t feel like I could make it.” Now, she is filled with joy.

2) You need openness and accountability with someone local, someone “with skin on” who you can share your trials and successes with. This should be a mature believer who won’t judge you for your faults and who knows how to pray and will commit to pray for you. I’m glad you were willing to be open with me, but I’m a remote person who doesn’t know you on a local, weekly level. Pray and ask God to help you find/select this person, or pray that He will bring her across your path. I say her because it would be unwise to open up a path across gender boundaries unless it were a professional counseling situation.
3) Don’t quit. Just because it’s hard now, or confusing, or whatever doesn’t mean it’s always going to be this way. Hebrews 12 tells us that there is a huge stadium filled with believers who have run this race before us who are cheering you and me on. If you could only imagine the stories that each of them have, the trials they encountered (some of them endured severe persecution!). Yet they are all saying, “You can make it!”

I’m blessed. In a very structured manner the entire relationship with God and steps and meaning of walking with God has been presented. This is good both for christians as well as non-christians. It can also be used to present the gospel to others.
I’m supposed to share the Word of God at a church tomorrow morning. When I prayed to the Lord, he gave me the message title as ‘Walking with God’. Already I was reeling under so much of work pressure, so many deadlines to keep and a lot of responsibilities. Above all, time is rather short for me to really study the Bible quietly, meditate and then learn the things God wants to teach me. In a desperate condition, I came across your write up and I must tell you, it was such a blessing indeed. Now, the Lord has revealed so many things to me regarding what all I should share. I googled walk with God and up popped your message I read it, it has strengthen me to go out and be a true advocate for God. Thank you for this! I have always been a christian but has never takin my walk with God seriously. I always thought that I had time to get to know him but it wasn’t until recently that I learned that I shouldn’t wast what does I have, that the next day my not always be there. I have been talking to God everyday ever since, praying to him and trying to learn more about him. I wanted to learn how to wlk with him better and what you have written is so helpful. Thank you so much. I am a young man that wants to know how to walk with God. I want to learn how to draw near to Him. I want people to see God’s glory on my face like it was with Moses after he spent some time with Him. I want that fellowship with Him that He created us to have with Him. After reading this, it has been helpful, but I want to know more.
I’m glad this was a nudge in the right direction. The simple truth is, no book, no devotional, no conference, no seminar, no amount of church going will give you this. To have that kind of fellowship means one-on-one time with your Creator in prayer and meditation on His Word. The good news is, nothing or no one can really stop you if you deeply desire that. Having asked that from God and expressed your desire, follow the desires He puts in your heart to seek Him. He leads, you follow: the results are eternally rewarding.
