As I look at the snow falling outside my window, I ponder how many of our perceptions of Mary and Joseph’s situation arise from our own geographical location.
We think of the poor cold baby and the shivering shepherds. Likely it was not that cold when Jesus was born. The shepherds were probably having a cool but rather uneventful night when the angels appeared.
Regardless, He came. And for that we celebrate. And the world is an infinitely better place.

Need to get a starter recipe for salsa? Here’s one that you can use. Try the ingredients. Change them to suit your taste. Experiment. Have fun. Enjoy.

Ingredients
12-16 ripe tomatoes (depends on size)
8 garlic cloves
2 large onions
1/3 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons of salt
2 bell peppers
10-20 jalapeno peppers (or picante, habanero or other hot pepper added to suit your taste)
Chop ingredients by hand or by food processor. Don’t chop them too fine if you use a processor.
Put tomatoes in a pot and cook them down at a low heat. As the tomatoes cook down, use a cup to remove excess juice. (You can save the juice and drink it later or can it for use in soups.)

Need to spell accurately to geeks over the phone? Tired of hearing people say, “A as in alpha?” The Phonetic Alphabet for Geeks could be your best friend in communicating with computer users everywhere.

The correct way to use this would be to say the phonetic letters/words alone, not stringing out the spelling by saying something like “B as in bios.” To spell the word ‘geek’ would simply be “GUI ethernet ethernet keyboard.”
