What great lengths God will go to when His people need help! Here before the Israelites lay the sea, large, deep, wet and threatening. On either side were mountains, and behind them were their enemies, threatening them one last time. They felt cut off. Their feelings, however, were lying to them.
God had chosen the path for them to bring them to this point. He wanted His people to know that their God who had shown such power in the plagues has power over everything. All power is at His disposal, for power comes from Him. He brought them to a place of obstacles in order that He might show them His power to remove the obstacle.
Nor was His answer to their dilemma a natural one. God did not say to Moses, “Well, you better get busy building some boats while I hold off the Egyptians.” It was an entirely supernatural answer, one which His people did not even conceive possible. God’s answers and His ways are so much higher than our own. Let Him be your God. Cry out to Him for help. He just may have led you to the obstacle to show you His power.
