Meditation 128

Today’s Meditation Click to read: Mark 2:23-27 God’s grace abounds so far in our lives.  Most of us likely just stick food into our mouths without too much thought.  At best, we might wonder how healthy the food is or if it is going to cause indigestion. The disciples had a worse case than that.  They had people watching over their shoulder for a chance to accuse them and their Master, and they jumped on this chance … Read entire article »

Today’s Meditation Click to read: 1 Kings 19:18 Be humble.  God’s grace reaches us in so many ways, but this particular instance is one which every Christian needs at some point.  One of the tricks in the devil’s bag is to make a person feel that he or she is going at it all alone, that no matter how much other people say they understand or identify with you, they really don’t. Generally, a few years and … Read entire article »

Today’s Meditation Click to read: 1 Kings 19:17 Delegate.  Another simple principle which shows the grace of God at work in our lives.  Do you know that you don’t have to do everything?  Do you know that it’s not your responsibility to save the human race?  Do you also know that Jesus Himself did not preach to, heal or show His power to everyone on the earth while He was here?  Delegating means that you give up … Read entire article »

Today’s Meditation Click to read: 1 Kings 19:13-16 Get to work.  This simple statement is another way of God showing us His grace.  Here, Elijah had come out of the cave and had heard the voice of God speaking to him.  God asked Elijah what he was doing there, and Elijah answered the same was as he did earlier: I’m here on the run because of you, and everyone hates me and wants to kill me.  Notice … Read entire article »

Today’s Meditation Click to read: 1 Kings 19:9-12 Get out of the cave.  God’s simple instructions get right to the heart of our problems.  That’s another way He shows His grace to us. God didn’t stop Elijah on his trek to the mountain of Horeb.  It was a holy place.  God had met Moses here in a burning bush hundreds of years earlier.  He had spoken audibly to the children of Israel here and had made a … Read entire article »

Meditation 123

Today’s Meditation Click to read: 1 Kings 19:1-8 Get up and eat.  It sounds simple, but God showed grace to Elijah in that short statement.  He knew what was ahead of Elijah.  A greatly discouraged prophet had walked all day into the wilderness (think “hot sun in a robe, maybe even a garment of hair”).  He was hot. He was tired.  He was hungry.  He was complaining.  He couldn’t take any more, so he thought, and he … Read entire article »

Meditation 122

Today’s Meditation Click to read: John 9:24-38 There is a verse in John where Jesus reminds us of the grace of God when He states, “He who comes to me I will never, ever cast out.”  This poor man had been blind since birth.  He was minding his own business begging alms of the people who passed by.  We do not read that he asked to be healed or even cried out to Jesus to touch him.  … Read entire article »

Meditation 121

Today’s Meditation 0 Click to read: Luke 21:36 God’s grace enables us to escape His wrath.  We know this in an eternal sense, but there will be a generation that lives (and dies) to endure the wrath of the Almighty God.  Simply put, I don’t want to be here.  And Jesus stated here that we don’t have to be a part of this awesome judgment.  His grace is available to those who will ask for it. Have you prayed specifically for this grace lately?  If not, ask Him. “Jesus, I pray now that I and my family will be accounted worthy to escape those things that are coming upon the earth.  Help me to watch, and may I stand before you in that day.” Forget arguments.  Forget pre-trib, mid-trib and post-trib.  Forget who has the … Read entire article »

Meditation 120

Today’s Meditation 0 Click to read: Zechariah 2:8 God’s grace is also our protection.  Think about it.  If God did not send His angels to guard us and keep us, if our welfare were truly left up to our genius or our survival abilities, how far would we make it?  We are not left in such a predicament.  God protects us daily. And His warning to those who would mess with His people is that we are the apple of His eye, a very special people. We must remember that the grace of God sifts everything that is allowed to come our way.  His grace is the rule which either prevents an attack completely or allows it to proceed for our benefit. How many times have we been completely spared from an all out … Read entire article »

Meditation 119

Today’s Meditation 0 Click to read: Mark 10:17-21 How else is God’s grace manifest to us?  We always think of grace as God giving us something, and yet in this instance, Jesus is trying to take away something from the rich young ruler.  More precisely, He told this young wealthy man to sell all that he had and give it to the poor.  Why did Jesus say this?  Quite plainly, because He loved the young man.  Jesus looked at him and looked INTO him and saw a man who could be His disciple right along with the rest of the crowd.  And Jesus wanted the man to succeed. You see, the man thought that he owned riches, but in reality, the riches owned the man.  The reason Jesus wanted to strip away the earthly … Read entire article »
